I've been interested in aviation ever since I was little. I vividly remember flying my toy planes around the house all day long and would make a runway out of just about anything. Instead of playing the latest and greatest video games as a kid, I spent hours on flight simulator and became quite proficient landing a Learjet at Meigs field using nothing but the arrow keys and F1 to bring back the throttle. My interest in flying continued to grow and I went on my first introductory flight as a sophomore in high school and absolutely loved it. I then spent a couple of weeks after my junior year in Shell, Ecuador flying with a missionary pilot and working around the hangar. It was incredible to fly over the Amazon, look down at a small patch of dirt that the pilot called our "runway", and then land going uphill with a slight curve to the left. I absolutely loved every minute of being in the air and decided to pursue aviation as a career.
I received a Bachelor's of Aeronautical Science from LeTourneau University in 2006, which basically means I went to college to become a pilot and aircraft mechanic. I spent about a year flight instructing and working on airplanes at SunQuest, got married to my high school sweetheart, and then moved to Nashville with my wife where we both pursued a Master's Degree. After adding our daughter to our family, we moved back to Florida three and a half years later and I had the privilege to return to SunQuest, again working as a flight instructor and mechanic. I love teaching and enjoy helping others accomplish their goals in flight training. Whether it's the first time you've ever set foot in an airplane or if you're pursuing a new certificate/rating, I look forward to working with you along the way! |
